About Me

My photo
I am a very enthusiastic Airedale Terrier, born in Ohio, and living with the two coolest people, my Mom and Dad. They adopted me in December last year, and I really like living with them. I have a feline brother named Winston, and a new K9 brother - a Lakeland Terrier. Yippee!!

My liddle brothers got somekind of "bug"

Linus is sick. What goes in solid comes out...uhhh, less than solid

Does anybody have any advice? Mom and Dad took him to vettie, but so far, no real...uhhh results...gosh its hard to be lady-like talking about this particular issue...they have tried feeding him pumpkin - he said he was not a vegenarian or something like that...same with boiled rice....but I liked it!
Now, they are feeding us both some stuff out of a tin...where's my chicken, and lamb, and beef, and...oh shoot, now I am hungry! Gotta run - Dad is on his way home to give us somethin' to eat and take us for our midday walk.
If you can help Linus or you have some suggestions, email me at PenelopeAiredale@gmail.com

  1. When I get the runs mom gives me Kaopectate and rice with boiled beef for a few days, or until I am solid for a while. It taste so good (the rice and beef) I hope that helps, oh and I am Mason Dixie stop by some time. =)

  3. Yikes, this seems to be a common problem.BabyRD was 2yrs in Feb. and she still had problems like that. Of course eating butter doesn't help her.The pumpkin doesn't always help her either.Ditto the rice. After the rice was thrown up twice she basically had an empty stomach for a day and it finally went away.(That was from eatting Hootie's pupchow.) The vet actually gave her an antibiotic,Metronidazoie 500mg,in case she has colitus. She only took 4 pills though as he said to stop when her stool hardened up. Good luck there with little Linus. 5. Oh, poor Linus, we usually get the same treatment Khyra suggested. Did Linus get a change of food brand when he came to your house? Sometimes that can do it too.

Hope he feels better soon and that things firm up.

  7. DO you think it is achange in diet?? Or nerves?? He is just a litle guy right?? Maybe the change in food has his tummy off a little..First we were thinking poop bugs but your Vet sounds like he checked that...Oh dear poor little fellow! love A+A

  8. When we are sick we usually go onto light food like boiled chicken with rice. It seems to help. Not too much though just small amounts.
Hope Linus is feeling better by now. Let us know how he is ok. We do worry about our pals.

  9. Sorry to hear little Linus is not well - it does seem to be a common puppy problem though. I get the same as everyone else, pumpkin and rice for a few days - if you get hungry enough, it tastes real good! Hope he comes good soon.

    cheers,

  11. Hey, Pen Pen!

Yep. No new advice from GooberStan. If we ever have the big D, then we're off food for twenty four hours (just water), then a little rice & boiled chicken for a couple of days. We also eat a little banana sometimes too.

Please give little Linus a big healing goober smooch from us. We hope he's feeling better VERY soon. That boy doesn't have much weight he can afford to lose!

    Goober love,
    Stanley

  12. Tell Linus to try what I do. Just eat some paper or fuzzy toy stuffing. It will stop things up and give it time to solidify before it escapes.
Penelope, congratulations on your little brother. Its very exciting.
